making homemade

My first finish of the year!  These are gifts for friends, as we decided to have our holiday party/gifting after the holidays and everyone was in town again.  [best decision!]  Once I got settled back into my usual schedule it was fun to go through my stash and play with fabric combinations.  I picked each combo with a specific friend in mind, so I'm hoping they'll love them as much as I do.

I made three of Aneela's Oval Box Bags and a large sized Open Wide bag from Noodlehead.  I've made each of these patterns several times before, so it wasn't too difficult to manage.  The inside fabric of each oval matches the zipper color.

Linking all the links!  I'll be putting these up at Crazy Mom Quilts for Finish it Friday. These are my January goal for the 2015 A Lovely Year of Finishes, linking at Fiber of All Sorts and they are on my Q1 list for the 2015 Finish-Along, linking at On the Windy Side.  While we had snow flurries Thursday, it's supposed to be in the mid 50s over the wknd so I'm off to soak in some sunshine!

Quarter 1 : 2015

This is my third year participating in the Finish-Along and I'm looking forward to a new year - so many projects to quilt and finish and love!  I'm aiming high this quarter since putting things on the list helps get me motivated to make progress step by step.  Linking up with Adrianne over at On the Windy Side!  Guess that means I ought to stop typing and start stitching.  :)
2015 FAL at On the Windy Side

Curves Challenge:  partially quilted already, just needs finishing & binding.

Watercolor quilt:  basted, needs quilting & binding.

Zip bags:  gifts for friends and my January goal for ALYOF.  3 oval box bags & a wide mouth bag

Improv quilt: I want to get moving on this one - need to figure out backing, & a plan for quilting

TDF quilt: I have fabric, a pattern & a plan - maybe it will actually become a quilt

Face quilt: This was a project sample I made for my Junior Quilter club at work.  I had them make emoticon face quilts in the style of Regina Alexandra and they had a blast.  I liked my sample so much I want to finish it, so it's quilted, but needs binding and a sleeve.

Well friends, that certainly gives me enough to work on these next few months.  What are you working on?

January Party Goal

With all the craziness around the holidays and people going in & out of town, my friends & I decided to have our holiday party after the new year.  Now that I'm back from vacation and slowly getting back into work schedules, I'll have some time to make the few gifts before we have said party.
A Lovely Year of Finishes

My plan has been to make several zip bags since these are fairly quick to pull together and really fun to gift!  Right now, I'll need to make several oval box bags and maybe a large aid mouth one as well.  I scouted some good zippers and have started to pull fabrics, looking for that right combination.  My January goal is to make and gift 3-4 bags and I'll be once again linking up at Fiber of All Sorts as we start the 2015 Lovely Year of Finishes!  Also linked up at Freshly Pieced for the first WIP Wednesday of 2015!

Year End Finishes

With all the games, food, hugs, laughs and things to do over vacation it's easy to forget about blogging! Before figuring out what quilting goals I have for 2015 I'm wrapping up all the finishes from 2014.  I managed to link up and finish 10 of 12 goals for A Lovely Year of Finishes!

The numbers are my link-up on each of the finishes parties as reference.
