Show & Tell

After several years this group challenge row robin quilt is finally finished! *insert happy dance*  Back when I was part of a mini group in 2007-ish each member chose a theme and some fabrics and created a row/strip to start their quilt.  My theme was the Outdoors and I made a landscape with the tent and campfire on it.

Then I passed my strip and fabric onto the next person who would add a strip of their own that went with my theme.  Between multiple schedules & moving it took a couple years to get all of my rows back again!  I pulled them out again last year and puzzle-pieced the rows into an actual top.  I added the bear's paw, flying geese and mini star pieces to fill the gaps.

Around Thanksgiving I started to quilt it and really had a lot of fun deciding on designs for each different piece.  I've got trees, clouds, hiking trail, sun rays and all sorts of fun patterns!  After retreat a few weeks ago I got binding fabric from Momm and finished up this lingering WIP.
I think it needs to permanently hang above my couch!
A Lovely Year of Finishes This was my February Finish as part of A Lovely Year of Finishes 2014 at Fiber of all Sorts.  Linking up there for the month.  It's also a project on my Finish-A-Long Quarter 1 list and I'm linking up at The Littlest Thistle - #222!

  1. That turned out really nice! Sometimes a round (or row) robin doesn't work out so well, but your friends had wonderful ideas! You did a great job finishing it.
